Embracing Resilience: A Journey Through Loss and Love

Welcome to a space dedicated to the memory and love of my son. This website serves as a tribute to the joy he brought into my life and the lives of many others. As a caregiver and a grieving mother, I have created this platform to share comfort, resilience, and inspiration.

Podcast: A voice of comfort, The Adapted Life Podcast

My podcast features heartfelt conversations about loss, grief, and the healing journey. Each episode includes personal stories, insights from other caregivers, and discussions on how to find solace after losing a loved one. Join us as we explore ways to honor the memories of our loved ones and promote healing within ourselves and our communities.

YouTube Channel: Julie Hasselberger’s Story in a Vlog

My YouTube Channel “Julie Hasselberger” is a video blog that captured years of the daily life we faced as caregivers, parents, partners and friends. The joys and triumphs among deep struggles with a son born with life changing severe disabilities. Sadly our son passed away unexpectedly right after the birth of our first grandson. It has been a rough period of extreme highs and lows. The videos I make are simply intuitive moments sharing the inside of this life.

Art Shop: Carrying Forward Love “Daniel’s Special Art”

In our art shop, you will find pieces created in memory of my son, designed to evoke connection and comfort. Each item embodies the love we carry forward, allowing you to bring a piece of this message into your home. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to organizations that support families with disabled children.

Writing: Reflections on Grief, Poetry and insights on this intense and insane grief I am living in.

Through writing, I aim to articulate the complexities of grief and the beauty of resilience. My articles, poems, and personal reflections capture the experience of losing a child while celebrating the moments we shared. I encourage you to share your own thoughts and stories, creating a community of support and understanding.

Together in Grief and Healing

This website is a sanctuary for those who have experienced similar losses. Together, we can navigate the intricacies of grief while uplifting one another. I hope to foster a sense of hope and connection as we honor the love our children brought into our lives. Thank you for being part of this journey. I hope to connect and share our stories.

Daniel passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2024. His departure has left an unfillable void in my life. As I navigate through this profound grief, I have decided to transform my pain into something meaningful. Creating a YouTube channel, an art shop, and a podcast are steps I have taken to build a supportive community around shared experiences of loss and healing.

In honoring Daniel's memory, I strive to offer love and encouragement to others who may also be experiencing deep sorrow. Each video, artwork, and podcast episode serves as an outlet for my emotions and a resource for those seeking comfort. It is a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles and that there is strength in vulnerability.

The journey of grief is personal and often isolating, but through this community, I hope to foster connections that remind us of the resilience of the human spirit. Together, we can share our stories, uplift one another, and find paths to healing. Daniel's legacy will continue through the love and support we create in this space, as I commit to embracing the journey of surviving grief while celebrating his life.

The Adapted Life podcast began as a supportive platform for special needs parents, fostering connection and understanding among those navigating similar challenges. However, as it evolved, it transformed into an exploration of grief and resilience following the profound loss of a disabled child. This shift has created a space for parents to share their heartache, confront the complexities of their new reality, and find solace in stories of love and remembrance. Through candid discussions, the podcast highlights the intricate journey of processing grief while celebrating the unique lives of children who have touched their families profoundly.
